The bachelor of science in Engineering is a project-based, hands-on program for creative engineers who want to design innovative solutions to current and future challenges to improve the lives of others. As a student, you will gain a broad foundation in engineering as well as an in-depth understanding of an engineering concentration area—automotive, electrical, environmental, humanitarian, mechanical or robotics. At the same time, you will have the flexibility to tailor your program of study to achieve your career and life goals that may extend beyond traditional engineering.
Each semester in the program, you will work on student teams to complete projects that combine classroom knowledge with real-world applications. From these experiences, you will be prepared to design and implement solutions to realistic problems in any work environment.
The Engineering major on the Polytechnic campus is eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. Students from Western states, who select this major and campus, may be eligible for reduced nonresident tuition. Optional accelerated programs in mechanical engineering systems and robotics offer high-achieving students an opportunity to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree within five years.

Five years after he dropped out of college, Josh discovered that ASU offered an engineering degree with a specialization in robotics and immediately enrolled. During his first semester he learned about the Rossum Rumblers Robotics student organization and by his second semester he was the president.
